100 Cities Against Pain | International Day of Pain

For the first year, Burning Nights CRPS Support will be supporting the annual event 100 Cities Against Pain, also known as the International Day of Pain!

The 100 Cities Against Pain was originally started by the ISAL Foundation and has been endorsed by Pain Alliance Europe. They have  announced the date for this year’s 100 Cities Against Pain / International Day of Pain which is to be on 29th September 2018.

The aim of the 100 Cities Against Pain day / International Day of Pain, is to inform everyone about pain, to recognise that chronic pain is a preventable and treatable condition, support health care efforts to prevent and manage chronic pain, promote fundraising for research, facilitate the development of a specialist formative culture and of course to involve the media in fighting against pain. The 100 Cities Against Pain day comes at a very fitting time as it is also near the end of Pain Awareness Month.

Just as in previous years volunteers, doctors, associations and agencies will be present in more than one hundred and fifty (150) information points, in Italy and abroad on the International Day of Pain. Everyone together will join the celebration of the International Day of Pain / 100 Cities Against Pain, in different ways such as organising their own events, supporting the 100 Cities Against Pain initiative through websites and social networks and of course taking part in our web #zeropain campaign.

Who is the ISAL Foundation?

ISAL was founded in 1993 by the will of Prof. William Raffaeli with the aim of helping people suffering from chronic pain and promoting the birth and dissemination of a specialized culture in pain care. In order to implement these aims, ISAL has created: a training school dedicated to health education with the aim of creating a network of experts in pain; a network of independent researchers who work together to broaden their knowledge of chronic pain.
